Although this speaks of the economy and buying things, this idea in a sense applies all over. We’ve heard this idea in many places. … You reap what you sow. The law of three. The law of attraction. What you put out into the world is what you get back.  And yes, that works with business too.

I try to live this well in my life and in my business. In life it’s the simple things like helping a friend or smiling at a stranger, helping an elderly person across the street, speaking well of people.  In business it’s not much different. Being kind to people that come into my “shop” even if they don’t buy, keeping prices as low as I can so more can get what they’d like, not talking ill of people or businesses even when I may feel they richly deserve it.

In this I’ve been more blessed in my life than I sometimes even realize. If all I wanted out of life — like some appear to — no doubt I could make more money, but I would be so much poorer in Spirit. Balance is good, I think.

Sometimes it can be so easy to forget the good things in life. The more we pay attention to them, give them our energy, the more they multiply.

Like that magic penny song we sang as a kid, “Love is like a magic penny. Lend it, spend it, and you’ll have so many they’ll roll all over the floor.”

So celebrate the good times. :)

A couple of months ago, I did an article on Crystals to Relieve Fear. I hope it’s helped someone, because crystals can be an excellent tool to help deal with fear.

There are, of course, other tools and other ways to deal with fear. One is shown in a story I read today in Pema Chodron’s book “When Things Fall Apart.”  I thought sharing it might help someone too.

Once there was a young warrior. Her teacher told her that she had to do battle with fear. She didn’t want to do that. It seemed too aggressive; it was scary; it seemed unfriendly. But the teacher said she had to do it and gave her the instructions for the battle. The day arrived. The student warrior stood on one side, and fear stood on the other. The warrior was feeling very small, and fear was looking big and wrathful. They both had their weapons. The young warrior roused herself and went toward fear, prostrated three times, and asked, “May I have permission to go into battle with you?” Fear said, “Thank you for showing me so much respect that you ask permission.” Then the young warrior said, “How can I defeat you?” Fear replied, “My weapons are that I talk fast, and I get very close to your face. Then you get completely unnerved and you do whatever I say. If you don’t do what I tell you, I have no power. You can listen  to me, and you can have respect for me. You can even be convinced by me. But if you don’t do what I say, I have no power.” In that way, the student warrior learned how to defeat fear.

In the end, fear has no power. It can be hard to remember that sometimes, but with practice — and maybe with a crystal to hold if we want — it gets easier.
