I am fascinated and moved by the Spiritual, mystical, and metaphysical. I share that here in articles and info about crystal properties lore and goodies on Reiki, Seichim and other related things.
There’s new metaphysical information out as of last night: Mariposite. It’s in the metaphysical section, but I’ll share it with you here too.
Mariposite is said to be a stone that reduces stress and helps us be calm and balanced. It is a stone said to help us adapt to change and be more flexible as well, from a calmer spiritual space in the face of change. This calm and balance from reduced stress also helps reduce fear, which in turn breeds more calm and balance. Mariposite is also said to help cope with energy overload, and avoid or eliminate exhaustion. It is also a stone of creative self-expression.
And guess what? One of the new goodies in the Rare / Limited / Specialty section that arrived yesterday is a Mariposite cabochon!

Back in July I answered a Q&A on crystals for asthma. The subject has come up again, so I did some more research. In addition to the stones I mentioned then, amethyst, malachite, obsidian, rutilated quartz, tiger’s eye, there are several others I’ve discovered are used in crystal healing for asthma symptoms. They are azurite-malchite, chrysocolla, clevelandite, foshagite, morganite, natrojarasite, and vanadinite. So you might want to add those to your list of asthma stones.

A friend of mine wrote that she was having trouble with some sort of negative energy that possibly could be considered demonic, and she asked about some stones for this. I thought I’d share what I’d said in my email since protection questions come up quite often
“Black stones are very protective, so yes, I’d go with the black kyanite (which she already had). Black tourmaline would be my first choice, as it is said to transmute negative energy to positive, and be protective that way. There’s also a huge list here http://crystalsandjewelry.com/goodies/metaphysical/crystals/stones-by-use and you could surely find something you already have on it.
When I have an person bringing in negative energy like this, one thing I do is a ritual grid at home, and leave it in place until the negative energy has passed. I had one set up for almost 2 years to deal with a person I used to have to deal with, but in the end they freaked me out a little but nothing worse happened.
And of course, clear out your own energy field regularly throughout the day. Duck in the bathroom if need be. Taking less nasty around with you helps.”
Another point that she and I discussed elsewhere is that while black stones are protective, even black obsidians also have a tendency to bring things to the surface energetically. This can be super useful in most situations, to get something out and deal with it is best. Sometimes, though, it feels like too much or for some other reason you may not want it. In those cases, I’d avoid obsidians in favor of another protective stone, or program and ask the obsidian to avoid this type of energy.
And as always, arrange your activities so that you deal with the person in question’s negative energy as little as possible. Often a combination of that practical stuff and energetic boost together make for the best situation possible.

A facebook friend said he has a Blue John pendant but didn’t know anything about it. I knew a little but not too much, so I volunteered to do some research on it.
Blue John is fluorite from the Blue John cavern in Derbyshire England. It comes in striped colors of mainly purple-red, dark blue, and yellow, which makes it name seem a bit odd to be called Blue John. The name supposedly comes from what the French miners of the past called it “bleu-jaune” meaning blue-yellow. It’s reputedly the most expensive and prized fluorite in the world. Roman legend says that drinking alcoholic beverages from cups or bowls of blue john kept away drunkenness.
Metaphysically, Blue John does have the properties of fluorite in general. Additionally, it is especially good for bringing succor and relief to sensitives and mediums who give too much or take too much in. It is said to bring renewal and energy, as well as strength, health and well-being. Blue John is said to be a catalyst for personal growth, encouraging experimenting, exploring, and understanding. It is a strong teaching and learning stone because of this. It is reputed to work very well with Magnetite for aligning the spine in polarization. Blue John is primarily related to the third eye and crown chakras with the solar plexus chakra tied in.

Some learning experiences are more fun than others, but everything has the potential to teach us something. This week I’ve been having what the doctors think is a gall bladder attack. Definitely not fun. But I’m determined to get something positive out of it. So I did some research on what crystals are helpful for gall bladder. I figured I’d share the info I found so that anyone having gall bladder problems could find it. And a very not fun experience is turned into a learning experience and something to share. I call that a WIN!
Crystals that are traditionally good for gall bladder problems are: Amber, Carnelian, Chalcedony, Citrine, Danburite, Gaspeite, Jade, Jasper, and Red Jasper. There are probably others, but that’s a good start! I found it pretty interesting as a group because in the last two weeks I’ve been crazed for carnelian and citrine and used them in quite a few pieces of jewelry, which I thought was a little odd and unusual. I wonder if I was intuiting what I needed there. Regardless, it’s good to know more about stones.
And I think today I will make myself a gall bladder charm.
