Crystals for Transition of Death

A friend emailed me recently to ask what crystals might be helpful for her old cat in failing health to make the transition out of this world lovingly and peacefully. Then I got to my work email a couple of days later to find the same question from a new friend. I got to help the kitties and be reminded of this important transition and that we can make it easier, and I want to share.
Death is a transformation, a transition, that we all will make eventually. How we approach it, and whether we fear it, and what we believe about it can make all the difference. Fear and resistance to change are often a large part of the problem, my friend felt, as do I. So working to lessen fear and resistance to change seems a good thing to us.
Crystal healing work can sometimes make a huge difference too, as can soothing rituals. Here is some information on my experience with crystal healing for transitions that I shared with them, and now you.
Botswana Agate would be my first choice, personally. It’s gotten me through all sorts of things. Info… “Botswana agate is sometimes called the “change stone” because of its mystical property of helping one handle change in a positive way. It is said to gently help one make transitions of any kind in a way that change is not as difficult or painful as could be without it; it is a comforting stone.”
Lepidolite would be my second choice, and maybe if she’s quite scared, first, hard to say. “Lepidolite brings hope and is a stone of transformation in that it helps one get through transitions with trust that everything will ultimately turn out for the best.”

death or transition (assisting the process): amazonite, apache tears, aqua aura, jet, black quartz, botswana agate, fossils, hematite, malachite, obsidian, rose quartz, rainbow moonstone, tiger iron
Death is not a bad thing for the creature or person making the journey, and not even painful once one has relaxed and let go of clinging to this world. I came to believe this from having had a serious near death experience, and believe it to this day. So I believe any not-insane method of assisting the experience — and crystals are neither insane nor invasive — can be a good thing in so many cases. The only time I would choose not to use them myself would be if the person or creature has some problem with crystal healing, such as a religious taboo. Otherwise, I think it’s good energy.
One of the cats that got me thinking and writing about this difficult but important subject has gone on to the next world last night. Georgia, is a kitty of Light today and made a peaceful crossing. Thank you Georgia, and my other kitty friend, for reminding me that all things are of Light and we can make peace with them, however difficult it may seem at first.

Can the Botswana Agate be used to handle changes of all kinds, or is it rather one dimensional in its properties? I had heard about this when I was doing my initial bit of research on Crystal Healing.

Botswana Agate can be used to handle change of all kinds, yes. I’ve used it myself when moving and making other major life changes, and found it very soothing and helpful.
