Power Mala
One-f-a-Kind Hand Mala, Prayer Beads, for Ritual and Meditation

"Power Mala" is a gorgeous hand malathat I handcrafted of large (10mm) natural clear quartz beads, a large handmade artisan lampwork glass bead, .999 fine silver, and nylon coated, braided, stainless steel jeweler's wire. The handmade lampwork bead is a style called "raku" and is pillow shaped. It's a gorgeous, totally one of a kind lampwork bead with a transparent deep purple background below the swirling "raku" colors.

This hand mala is 27 counting beads, which is one quarter the number of a full mala which, with 108 beads reflects the 108 names of god. It also has a "God bead" or "Guru bead", which, in this case, is a pair of beads, the lampwork pillow plus a natural quartz crystal bead. This hand mala can be used for rosary-like prayers, japa mala chanting, or any type of meditation.

In alignment with the mystical lore associated with the stone, I crafted this piece with the prayer and intent that the wearer be blessed with Power through meditations and prayers.

Glass is an ancient material, one of the most ancient known and used by man. The first glass used was natural obsidian, volcanic glass, used to make arrowheads, knives, jewelry, etc. Glass objects created of manmade glass are reported to have been found as early from as 4,500 BC in Mesopotamia and 3,000 BC in ancient Egypt. Many consider glass to have no metaphysical properties, but others who are aware, realize that glass has energy like all else in the Universe, and thus has its own set of properties. Glass is a melding of the traditional four elements, because through fire and air the silica earth element is made molten and transmuted into a liquid only to return to its earthly state as a solid.
